In a blink of an eye...

Time passes. Mucho time passes.

I've been doing my swimming lessons and making some progress; had horrible food poisoning and survived; went on another business trip (to Chicago) -- did some work, saw some old friends and got very nostalgic about when I lived there; continuing to have controversies at work about what they told me my job was supposed to be and what it really is; came in second in a round of a "Biggest Loser" contest with some girlfriends; all the while trying to take it one day at a time.

The weather has also turned a corner -- we hope. The ice is off the lakes, grass is starting to green up and we've had a couple of days that reached 70 degrees. Summer must be coming.

I'm trying to decide if I have it in me to run the Wells Fargo 1/2 marathon. I have not been trainnig as hard as I should have been and the course can be a bit challenging. It is hilly and typically full of very fast, fit runners. (The first time I ran the event, I came in second from last). I was going to run it as a training run for Grandma's 1/2, but since I didn't get in that event I've been a bit l a z y.

I still have a little bit of time to decide if I want to do it or not. I should just do the dang thing and if I end up last or if they close the course before I finish, so be it.

Hubby and I have been out golfing three times already. That has been a big blast. I just started last year and am not very good, but really enjoy being outside and trying to get the ball in the air more times than not. I've signed up for some lessons and we have also joined a League with another couple of our friends.

I don't have much profound to say today. Just needed to get a post in to catch up.

I have a bunch of meetings tomorrow with my boss; then with him, his boss and his boss's boss...should make for a very digestively distressed day.

Hey! Welcome back. Sorry to hear about the food poisoning. Even sorrier to hear you might bail on the Wells Fargo 1/2--I was planning on running it with you. Well, at least crossing the starting line together, since you're faster than me. If you come in second to last, I'll be last! You still have time to get in some training runs before the race.

I ran in shorts today! Legs are winter-pale, but the nice weather is a welcome relief. Hope it lasts.
